The oil and filter need to be changed at least every 10k miles or very 12 months. Changing the oil more frequently can do nothing but good and may delay or prevent entirely the common EGR failure on these engines. Good idea to change the oil feed and oil return pipes to the turbo entirely every four years or so because it's too difficult to
The VW manual has this semi-complicated method for replacing your DSG transmission fluid. #1 - remove the cover #2 - back out the “thumb stick” #3 - let all the fluid drain out #4 - let the transmission cool #5 - screw the “thumb stick” back in #6 - pump 6 quarts of transmission fluid through the “thumb stick” and close the valve to

The Febi fluid is the proper spec for your DSG and is a little bit cheaper than over the counter VW labeled fluid. Do yourself a favor and make sure you at least use an OEM VW filter cartridge o-ring. The aftermarket o-rings will pretty much 100% leak in very short order.
Mar 30, 2014. #14. I changed the fluid in a Jetta that was 100,000 miles past due. The car had 140,000 miles on it and had NEVER had the DSG fluid changed. The filter was dirty, the fluid stunk and was nasty looking but the transmission didn't seem to care whether the fluid was changed or not.
. DSG stands for direct-shift-gearbox. It’s an electrically controlled dual-clutch automatic gearbox found in many VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) cars, there are also 6 and 7-speed versions, there is also an 8 speed that came on the A8. The DSG gearbox mainly in the performance cars from each brand such as the RS3/S3, Golf R/GTI or Cupra.
Once done, the oil flow will be very thin, due to the oil pipe. Remove the oil pipe, using a 8mm Hex. After that, the oil flow is more important. Step #5 : Oil filter replacement. Once the gearbox is empty, you can put back in place: - The Oil pipe (still using the 8mm Hex. Tightening torque = 3nm).
This clutch pack was designed by LuK Clutch Systems, LLC. This seven-speed DSG is used in smaller front-wheel-drive cars with smaller displacement engines with lower torque outputs, such as the latest Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Polo Mk5, and the new SEAT Ibiza, due to it having a maximum torque handling capacity of 250 N·m (180 lb·ft).
The 1.4 has a different DSG (DQ200 with dry clutches) to the ones fitted to Golf Rs (DQ250 or DQ381 with wet clutches). I would be very surprised if the DSG doesn't need regular oil changes (and maybe a filter as well). After a bit of research it seems VW claim they don't need an oil change (ever !) but some people think every 120,000km is
