The DT 880 is designed with a preference for use with amplifiers, with a nominal impedence level of 250 Ohm. However, the sound pressure level is loud enough for all manner of applications and ensures these headphones are a versatile option. Just as a note, we measured the pressure level at 90.28 dB when carrying out our product test.
This means that the DT 770 PRO with 250 ohms sound more natural, but plays (depending on the used headphone amplifier) not as loud as the 80 ohms version. The transducers of the 80 ohms versions are stronger and more powerful, a bit more low-mid accentuated and therefore this version is ideal for powerful reproducing of low-frequency material f
I use the DT990 Pro 250 ohm. Initially I used to hate them, the treble was too strong for me. Then I paired them with soundblaster G6. Did EQ, and now I do like them. They have very good soundstage and gives you immersive experience. However, most likely I will return them and try out AKG712K because I miss deep right bass.

Thanks for the help, I've been lurking here recently prior to buying my new headphones - beyerdynamic dt990's - these are the pro 250 ohm versions. They are nice, I cant wait for the head clamping feeling to die down with the "stretching exercises" I'm giving them (read as; stretching with books)
. This is a review and detailed measurements of the Beyerdynamic DT990 (250 ohm) open back headphone. A member was kind enough to purchase one new and drop ship it to me due to request from membership! The DT990 costs about $160 and has been around for many years. I like the look of the DT 990: View attachment 109718

ASTRO MIXAMP PRO TR PAIRED WITH BEYERDYNAMIC DT 990 (250) Question. I have been using my Astro A50 Gen 4 for a while now and feel like I want another pair. Decided to go with the DT-990 (250) because of the great reviews and like the Astro eq command center. My concern after some research is that the mix amp pro TR will be at 250 oms.
If I had to rate it's impact I would say it's like the DT880/250, but even less than those. The high while quite extended and detailed but has a slight edge to them, but not grating or strident sounding. All of the DT line (DT770-DT990) has a treble oriented sound, so the DT770 will emphasize this.
